Catbird at TIFF 2009

Catbird producer Katarina Soukup leaves today for the Toronto International Film Festival. She was one of 25 filmmakers selected to participate in TIFF’s Talent Lab, a four-day intensive programme that offers artistic-development opportunities to Canadian filmmakers. The programme provides participant filmmakers the opportunity to build networks in a creative environment and to learn from some of the most esteemed filmmakers and artists in the world. This year’s Talent Lab governors are Don McKellar (Last Night, Blindness), Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting), John Collee (Master and Commander), and Miranda July (You, Me and Everyone We Know), with other guests to include Jane Campion, Tilda Swinton, Niki Caro, Atom Egoyan, Ivan Reitman, and Chris Doyle. A very exciting program! While at TIFF, Katarina will  be sure to attend the World Premiere of Félix Lajeunesse and Paul Raphaël’s short film Tungijuq on September 11 (9:30pm at the Isabel Bader Theatre) as part of the Short Cuts Canada program. Félix is also the director of Catbird's most recent documentary Tusarnituuq! Nagano in the Land of the Inuit. Follow @CatbirdProd on Twitter for dispatches from Talent Lab and TIFF!
