Under the City wins the Green Pitch at Planet in Focus!

Catbird's cross-platform documentary Under the City was selected the winner of the Green Pitch Competition at the 2010 Planet in Focus International Environmental Film Festival (PIF). Among six finalists, producer Katarina Soukup presented the project at the competition in Toronto on October 15 in front of a jury which included Jane Jankovic (Commissioning Editor, TVO) and FM Morrision (Senior Producer, CBC's Nature of Things). PIF Industry programmer Allan Tong admitted the competition was stiff, with a 50% increase in applications to the Green Pitch over the previous year. Past Green Pitch winners include Yung Chang for Up the Yangtze and Cameron Esler for Burning Water. The Green Pitch award comes with cash and services towards the development of Under the City.
